Taking baby to London

Has any ever took their baby to London before or does anyone live in London with a baby? Me and my sisters are going for a weekend in November and I’m obviously taking her but I just wanted to know what it was like? Any things to avoid etc?

I took my baby to London, we took her big brother to the natural. History museum, primark and Hamleys. Buses were busy, we had to wait for the third bus to be able to get on. Underground is hit and miss if there isn't a lift it's horrible. Not a lot of places are accessible, we went to eat in pizza hut and the only way in and out were a bunch of stairs. Walking around is normally no issue just transport can be a bit of a problem

We went to London and some stations are ok with lifts etc, the DLR was good as it’s bigger. Usually there’s the seats for disabled users that I used to sit on and put the pram in, we used the car seat attachment on the pram as it was smaller so less of an issue with stairs 😊 I was dreading it but there was lots for my lg to see and she slept a lot of the time x

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking, she’ll love the lights and will probably sleep a lot too. I’m not looking forward to have her out on a night but it’s only for a weekend. Our pram folds down and it has a handle so I’m thinking I could carry it down and I’m going to wear the carrier under my coat incase she needs to be put in it. Thank you x

Definitely take a carrier so you have options in smaller spaces. I use a pram in London most of the time and find the TFL Go app useful. You can select Step free mode which shows you which stations on the tube have lifts and interchange options. Not always necessary, but sometimes easier to walk a few minutes more overground and have a chilled step free journey.

Also, book a few options for dinner and let them know at the time of booking that you will have a pram - most places are really accomodating. Try to avoid travel during 5-7pm as that is peak time…could be a good idea have early dinners then as lots of places also do pre-theatre set menus. Have a lovely time 💫

I live in London and find it very easy to g3t around. Use buses where possible instead of tube.

Yea I have, done it with a big double buggy. I found that as long as you plan the route it was fine, a couple of times we had to get off at an earlier stop and walk. For example we got off at Victoria and walked to the natural history museum. Luckily the weather was good!

We’ve been into central London a few times and we got a little stroller ( silver cross clic) which is so handy for trips like these. The lifts at the stations are pretty non existent so I’d recommend googling which stations have lifts if your taking a pram otherwise maybe think about the bus but the downside is it’s quite a long journey, it can get busy of course but once your there your there and it’s okay! It’s just the journey ! X

what’s a long journey the bus? X

I find the buses go round the houses so do take a tad longer than the trains do. X
