HCG rising slowly
I’m 5 weeks pregnant and my HCG levels are rising very slow. My first test was 371 and now it’s 484. Three days in between the tests. Has anyone else had a similar HCG? What could this mean?

It probably just means you’re very early. I had to do a lot of HCG tests in the beginning because I found out so early (around 3 weeks or so). As long as the numbers are increasing, I think you’re okay. They usually at least double every week in the beginning, but that’s an average. Also I’ve read that male fetuses generally produce lower hormone levels in the pregnant woman (and I’m having a boy), so perhaps it’s just early and a boy? I wouldn’t worry about miscarriage unless you have symptoms (cramping, heavy bleeding) and the numbers start to get lower. The OBGYN just likes to do a bunch of the HCG tests so they know when to bring you in for the first dating ultrasound and then schedule the first prenatal off of that.
They generally double every 48hrs, in a healthy pregnancy, if they don’t it’s kind of a limbo zone. Things could be fine but they could also not be. Have you been booked for a scan at 6/7 weeks to see whats going on?
Yeah as em said. It might be early but HCG tends to double every 48hours.
