All I see is mums writing about leaps etc does anyone else think itโs a load of s**t ?! Honestly raising a child then comparing to leaps to see what stages yous are at.
None of this was about when our parents had us ๐๐

Yes and no. The leaps contain the type of developmental skills your baby will gain such as rolling, grabbing and being more visually aware, for example and something like this can lead to regression with sleep as these can be huge changes for such a small person. Not all babies experience regression though and will just have the "leap" it honestly depends so I'm a bit hit and miss with them as not everything will apply per leap

A lot of things werenโt about then and things change. I think they can be useful to read up on and as Emily-jade has said they can help you to understand the skills babe is learning. It can also help to make sense of changes in your little one too. Xx

All babies are different and do things at different times. For example, my little boy "should" learn to roll before he learns to sit but is much closer to sitting than he is rolling. So yes, I think the leaps are a waste of time. As long as you know that sleep and feeding can be affected when learning a new skill, that's all you need to know really xx

I don't follow them as such but I believe they exist at certain times of baby's development, when I had my first 10yrs ago there was none of this, I'd never heard of leaps or regression etc and I don't remember any really bad phases with my first, this time round it's all I hear about and I've been panicking and worrying for weeks about this sleep regression and it hasn't affected us at all (yet) same with the jabs, I took my first to all of hers and don't remember being overly worried about her becoming ill from them, but with this baby I have major anxiety taking her for them thinking she's going to get poorly because all you see on this app is bad jab reactions and regressions etc it's great that we all have somewhere to come for advice but reading about it everyday makes you worry and more anxious about if and when these things will happen to our baby
