Storage?

How much storage would you say you need for a new baby? I feel they are little but could have a lot! I’m thinking do turning my old 4 kallax into a changing table and using the 4 boxes underneath for storage of clothes, muslins and towels etc. Do you think thatl be ok/enough? Trying to upcycle!

I have put a changing table on top of a kallax like this but don't use it for baby storage. I think most newborn stuff will fit in one though. We have a couple of hanging storage solutions for baby stuff, one on the back of a door downstairs and the other on the side of the cot. I found it useful to have 2 stations to save running up and down when he needs a change.

was if a 4 kallax? Most I see online have used the 6. Just checking you found enough space. We are only 8 weeks but I love a project and diy!

I would say I’m using storage more for the things I’d thought I’d need but haven’t used 🤣 I think the best advice is movable storage as you’ll find yourself stationed all around the house. Ie have nappy caddies and breastfeeding caddies round the house, and I have a wardrobe with both a tail and baskets and we’re keeping the baskets (vests and sleep suits) downstairs as that’s where we change him most. We gave a changing unit too (haven’t really touched much that’s stored inside yet). Then have a big box for storing nappy back stock but that’s all storage wise!!

I think if you have the Kallax dividers, you could store a lot!! I think the 4 box one will be a bit too small but depends how much you buy!! If you only keep their current sized clothes out (and the rest in boxes likes we’ve done) then that’ll make things easier ☺️

yes we have a 4 kallax and the changing table that was meant to go on top of a cot is on it.
