Gaviscon giving trapped wind

As I solve one problem another comes up I swear. Sorry if this has been asked before had a quick flick through , my boys nearly 9wks just been given gaviscon after weeks of worsening silent reflux, tried everything before resorting to it.

Thankfully after 2 days of it he seems to be better, now wanting to drink more as it’s probs burning less bless him but now he seems to be getting awful trapped wind - stomach rock hard, legs outstretched & really crying. Eventually it passes with couple of farts but after a good hour of rubbing , rocking etc.

Anyone else experienced the same, is it the gaviscon where it thickens too? Can I still give him gripe water to help with wind I usually put it in milk but now probs can’t as gaviscon powder goes in there?

Sorry for long post - the trapped wind debacle has meant he’s regressed to napping for max1hr at a time overnight & so slightly deliriosu

We had this exact same issue with the gaviscon as well as constipation. We did still put the gripe water in the milk and it made no difference. We’ve just started on Omeprazole and we’re on day 4 and tbh the wind issue isn’t much better on this as he cannot bring his burps up. It took me 40 minutes to give half a bottle last night because he wouldn’t burp 😩 then when he finally did he wanted the rest so I had the whole debacle all over again only for him to wake 30 mins after putting him down with belly ache. I don’t have any suggestions to help I’m afraid but just wanted to say you’re not alone!!
