Meeting other babies after just one vaccination

Hi Ladies, just wanted to find out as I'm due to meet up with a friend who's little girl had her one year vaccines mmr and meningitis last week, which she felt ill from. My little boy has only had one set of his vaccines which are different ones anywway as he's 10 and a half weeks. Is it safe for me to take him to see her? Would he be able to catch something from her vaccine a week ago?

You'll be completely fine! Any sickness she got is just her immune system working to build antibodies for the illnesses she was vaccinated from, she would actually have those illnesses so she won't be contagious

thank you! So even though he hasn't had the mmr one before and the others that come with the 1 year vaccine it still applies? He's had the 8 weeks which are different x

Yeah that's fine, I mean you can never be completely sure that the other child won't actually have any illnesses that can be passed on but that wouldn't be from the vaccines that she's had 😊 we were going to a playgroup with other mums and babies from when my bub was 6 weeks old and she's constantly around other kids and babies and she hasn't had anything more severe than just a cold
