Silently aspirating

I just found out that my 8 month old silently aspirates on thin liquids, leading to all drinks needing to be honey thickened with “gelmix”. He does well on solids and baby foods. He also had tongue, lip & cheek tie that was released in June. He also had torticollis on his right side, do you think this is all related? Will he ever out grow this with time? If yours has outgrown it about how long did it take? I know every baby is different but just looking for some insight!

I have more questions than answers! How did you figure out what your baby is silently aspirating? Did they do a modified barium swallow or a FEES? was this done by a speech pathologist? Has your baby had a history of respiratory issues or infections?

My LG had the same ties released in May. She still has the occasional spit up spree, but it took a couple months of stretching her body regularly for her body tightness to release. Keep consistent with the stretching and the torticollis will resolve as will the swallowing issue you described

Would also highly recommend a speexh/feeding specialist evaluation for guidance
