Best beginner yarn?

I’ve ordered some bits to start crocheting and just wondered the best yarn to get? I’ve got 2 balls off Amazon just for trialling. Ebay has loads well priced but I don’t know which is good! Thank you xx

Lovecrafts.com is the best website and the best yarn I use is either stylecraft or paintbox yarns

If you’re just starting out, I’d go for cheap and cheerful acrylic yarn - there’s plenty of different colors and variations and you won’t feel sad if something doesn’t turn out as expected - it’s only couple of quid per skein :)

what is skein please? Thank you! Xx

It can depend on what your crochet pattern asks for e.g. dk, 4 ply, chunky.
I like wool warehouse, lovecrafts and hobbii depending on what the pattern asks for. You can always go to yarn substitution website to find suitable alternatives to the yarn asked for in patterns. Xx

that’s really gelpful, thank yiu! Xx

If you're not sure about a pattern asking for dk you can pick some up cheaply in poundland or home bargains to practise with first. Xx

The knitting network it's a brilliant website. Lots to choose from on there. And it's not expensive. I started out with double knit and just watched you tube videos on how to do rows of basic stitches and kept practicing u till I could do good squares. Only tool me a few weeks and I was having a go at making teddy's. Hobbi is a good website for free patterns. I have lots of different Teddy patterns if you would like me to send you screenshot of some ? Xx
