can newborns sweat in their sleep?
the last few days we’ve noticed our baby gets a wet spot on his lower back/side…right above his butt where the diaper covers him. it’s not pee or poop so we’re a bit confused.
he sleeps on his back but is not overly bundled up so we aren’t sure why he’d be sweating there.

Our baby sweat in her sleep also! We ended up changing the blanket we were swaddling her in for something a bit more breathable and she stopped having that little wet spot when she woke up.
She’s generally cold, so once we moved her to her room we actually turned the heat up and bought her a super warm sleep sack - but made sure it was all breathable and she hasn’t sweat much anymore! But in general touching her hands and feet and nose are bad indicators of temperature - always check the chest / back ! If those are warm then baby is a good temp, and no need to bundle up more/ wear more pjs etc and then lead to sweating.
