Flu vaccine / asthma / reactions
My son (age 2) is being treated for asthma like symptoms we’ve been in hospital 7 times this year with breathing problems which usually starts with a minor cold / blocked nose
I’ve read one of the side effects of the nasal flu vaccine is a blocked nose
Please can you share your experiences and whether your child became ill after? Even if not asthma related
Wondering if I need to book a few days off work to look after him. (He will be with grandparents if not, not nursery)

My son has had bronchiolitis 3 times and been hospitalised for all of them when he has a cold he struggles with his breathing and has an inhaler, the doctors are reluctant to say asthma but it’s a possibility, he had his flu vaccine about 3 weeks ago and was absolutely fine and had no side effects whatsoever

My son had his, was totally fine - no side effects at all
My daughter has asthma and she had the flu jab and was absolutely fine too. She found the actual nasal shot funny and asked the nurse to do it again!
My son had it and had a temperature at the 48 hour mark for a few days. With medicine he was back to his normal self.
My daughter was in hospital 10+ times last winter, they said viral wheeze! As every time she got something like a cold she would struggle with breathing and suck in at the throat and ribs! We now have an orange inhaler she has every morning and every night, that’s sorted the issue for us for now! They won’t diagnose her with asthma until she’s age 5+ as they said a lot of children grow out of it! My daughter had the flu nasal spray and no side effects xx
