Yellow Pop

Hey girls, my little one hasn’t been feeling well we took a trip to the A&E with a high fever, however he’s now on antibiotics due to and infection (flu), his ooo is now yellow with no smell, normally his poo smells so bad I have to open windows lol - is it the antibiotics?

Did they say what the antibiotics are for? If he had a gastrointestinal infection then that could be causing the smelly poo, and now that he’s on antibiotics it’s improving?

That being said, antibiotics will also kill off some of the bacteria in his GI tract- the good and bad. A change in bowel colour and consistency could just be a side effect of that. as long as his poo is not pale (white/gray) I wouldn’t worry!

Sorry, just saw that you wrote he’s been diagnosed with flu. The flu is a virus so the abx are probably just to prevent/treat any underlying or potential bacterial infections. The change in his poo is probably just a side effect!
