My baby is seven weeks old. She typically drinks about 2.5 ounces per feeding. It’s been that way for a while now. I feel like she should be drinking more at this point, but she’s kind of backtracking. And at times will drink an ounce and a half and then become disinterested or fall asleep. I’ve tried to increase my bottle nipple size to a two, but that doesn’t seem to do the trick. Does anyone have suggestions for what I can do?

My son has a lot of feeding issues & we’re still figuring it out. He’s 10 weeks & does 3 oz at a time (18 oz total). He has a larynx birth defect & bad reflux. It’s been really frustrating watching him fail to grow while we figure out how to help him 😩 he’s very underweight. No suggestions but wishing you luck!!

Are you using formula or breast milk that can make a difference on her intake.

Not sure but maybe ask your pediatrician? In the beginning, ours told me to wake him up if he falls asleep while eating to make sure he finished.

I go to the doctors next week so I’ll be asking then but just seeing if guys had suggestions.
It’s breast milk.

Maybe try at the breast. She told me to do 15-20 min each breast and keep him up. Maybe yours will do more at the breast?
Is yours feeding ever 2 hours or so?

Oh and you can also call the doctor anytime! You don’t have to wait til you go!🩷🩷🩷

We’re exclusively bottle feeding. My babe wouldn’t latch. But yes she feeds every 2 hours.
We’ll see what the doctor suggests.
Babe is still growing and learning quickly so i dont feel it’s hindering her as of now. But want her to have good feedings!

Did they check for lip or tongue ties? Does she get good burps? Making sure baby isn't too warm during feedings may help keep awake during feedings.
Also I know you mentioned baby struggled to latch, if not lip or tongue ties maybe try latching again? With my first, we struggled to latch, so I do a few minutes at tje breast and would mainly pump, at 3/4months latch got better and went to exclusively breastfeeding.
If you're open to it, mainly seek a pediatric chiropractor.
Just a few suggestions ♥️

my LO is 12 weeks and when I bottle feed her breast milk she drinks about 2 oz. I struggle to get anymore then that in her. But as long as she’s gaining weight you should be good. Breast milk is a lot different then formula so the fat content changes for what your baby needs.
