Are there any Medical Assistants in this group? I was giving the opportunity to go to school to become one but I’m going in with zero knowledge or skills. Was this degree worth it ?

I’m in school to be a Medical Assistant

I did my classes years ago, it’s good to have. They usually teach blood draws, needles, ekg, basic patient care and they usually send you to an externship to get practice.

how’s it going so far?

did you use that to advance in the medical field?

I like it. It’s all online right now. Starting in January, I go to my local campus once a week for labs and such. Been in school since May this year

did you start with some experience or none?

None

I’m feeling confident

That’s good.

Did you get your CNA first or CMA ?

i should have but i know it’s a great start like if you wanna do CMA then nursing or something. Personally I would done LPN first

I did, but if I could go back, I would go through the accelerated nursing program through my local community college instead.

can you tell me why ?

why did you choose the admin route?

couldn’t agree more! For that reason I’m debating on getting back in the health field
