I’m feeling that I’ve seen lists of ‘foods not to eat during pregnancy!!’ online, my husband has seen them too and doesn’t want me eating aubergine/eggplant, pears, or spicy food - I’m a few weeks off the first midwife appointment and not sure how to talk to him about this? He really believes it but none of these pages give evidence, just that they’re a bit laxative-like.
Sounds like a minor thing but with my sickness all I’m wanting to eat is big juicy mountain pears now I can’t have them 🥲

I would tell him the NHS guides are the only realistic ones to follow. Other ppl scaremonger and that's not good for our cravings or anxieties

Well I’ve been eating pears it’s been the best crave for me 😩🤧 I’m sure we’ll be fine 🙏🏾

Stick to NHS guidelines only as Louise suggested otherwise you end up going down a rabbit hole of uncredited and unreliable sources based on theories and no substantial evidence. To be fair, you’d be wanting laxative effect foods after a few weeks anyway 😂😅 Pregnancy is constipation central!
