I'm F**king done.

We just moved into this house 2 weeks ago. The bathroom sink doesn't drain right so we used Drano on it TWICE. After the second time didn't work I called the property management company and asked for a plumber. Plumber came out and tried to use a tool to unclog the drain. He said it got stuck so he stopped and would have someone talk to the homeowner about replacing the galvanized pipes. That was yesterday.

Tonight I find that there is water pooling under the sink, warping the wood and soaking our stuff. The drain is also back to draining slow but even slower than before the plumber came. I told my husband via text because he ran out with our roommate for food. Guess what he says?

"THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST LET ME USE THE DRAIN-X ON IT AND NOT CALLED FOR THE STUPIDEST SHIT. YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN PATIENT. NOW YOU HAVE TO CALL THEM AGAIN SO THEY CAN FIX IT"

I'm sorry but if TWO treatments of Drano didn't work in the first place what in the fuck do you think a third is gonna do? So it's my fucking fault that the PROFESSIONAL fucked up. I don't get the logic.

Sorry for my language. I'm just fed up.

Draino can actually eat through your pipes especially if they're older 🤷‍♀️
Definitely call back the plumber and have them find the source of the problem before it gets worse.

well my husband seems to think it's the holy grail of plumbing issues

First of all, you're renting right? Breathe.

Because imagine you owned the house lol, then you'd be fucked. Your landlord is completely responsible for this. I'd be looking at the landlord like he's fucking retarded if he doesn't properly fix this.

Lauren is right, also you're allowed to withhold rent until your landlord fixes. And keep documents and if he's refusing at that point, then go to court because it's the landlords job to make sure the house is good.

Also your husband is an ass for saying that sorry but it's not your fault at all.

@Lauren yeah before we moved in, my cousin said she knew who rented this house and they complained that the homeowner never fixed anything. I met the homeowner 2 days after moving in and he was the sweetest gentleman ever. HE had the bad hand dealt with his tenants. They had 11 people living here with 2 children and 2 teens. They hadn't paid rent since March last year. And when they were evicted they stole his appliances. He already fixed a busted pipe in the front yard and told us he would take care of our first water bill when we recieve it cause most of it will be from the leak. Before we moved in we requested the windows get repaired and he couldn't repair them so he's had them measured to be replaced fully. He's doing his part. We just really thought we wouldn't have to bother them for a simple clogged drain.

What a dickhead. From what I read it doesn't seem like you clogged the pipes. I love when men are just so sure they are right about absolutely everything. The arrogance from this boi. I'm betting he's actually wrong too 😅
