Learning to pedal

Many told me get balance bike learn balance on there then no training wheels.

If that doesn’t help & he struggles doesn’t look like he will u can get pt for him to help.

My 3 year old is the same can’t get him to do full pedals

My son never did he is really good on a scooter though. He can skateboard and boogie board.

He has had a balance bike from being 2, literally a pro on it he needs something with brakes and control lol. Xx

Oh my sons scooter has breaks. He didn't start with it till he was 9 or 10 though when we realized he was never going to ride without training wheels.

yeah he’s had a balance bike for Christmas last year he’s a pro on it now, and runs as fast as he can then he’s going to fast to stop, that’s why we have got a pedal bike with breaks

yeah I feel so bad as he just doesn’t get it he asks me is this big circles mum and I have physically moved his pedals and showed him but he just get frustrated. I’m hoping he just gets the hang of it, it’s so tricky to try make him understand lol 😂😂

He eventually graduated to a skate board. Skooter first then I got him a cool electric one for Christmas he was zooming. The first one was on his own power and had 3 wheels. Then he got the new one and he was great on two wheels. Yes it has breaks. He's just not a bicycle kid. I'm fine with it.

@Kirsty absolutely try him on everything when appropriate! All children and people are different my first two rode bikes. Why stifle them. Who cares if they don't ride a bike. I am hilarious on a bike but I can climb a mountain and waterfalls.

My daughter did this when she started. Trick is to put something under the stabilisers to lift the back wheel off the floor (we used books) and get them to sit on the seat and practice the peddling whilst the bike is stationary xxx

so I have tried this but he is so impatient and tells me he wants the bike of and wants to go 🤣, I will keep trying xx

yeah definitely he loves his balance bike too and wants on his pedal bike xx

He'll get it. We're a bike family so seeing us on bikes all summer really helped he started on a balance bike just after 1 now he can ride at 2
