Cold sores
My little boy has been teething and has been unwell with several viral infections for the past 7 weeks 😩 doctors have said it can take months to get out of his system. Today, he’s come up with these round his mouth, on his top lip and red spots on his tongue. Are they cold sores? Should I be concerned?

They looks like Hand Foot and Mouth spots, nothing you can do for it apart from calpol. The spots are the final stage so he should be fine in a few days! Hope he’s better soon
Thanks for your reply he’s been unwell, mainly a cough and sore throat but no spots on hands or feet- do these sound like symptoms of HFM?
Yeah that’s what happened with my boys! They had runny noses and sore throats and then the spots came about a week later! My older boy had spots a lot worse but my 10 month old only had some around the mouth like yours and one or two on his hands and feet! He was feeling much better 2/3 days after the spots appeared!
You can use calamine lotion to dry out the spots and calpol for the temp and pain!
Don’t use nurofen (ibuprofen) though as it can make the spots get infected!
