Thoughts on baby walkers/ jumpers?

I know they are meant be baby for development but just wanted to see what other people thought about them as I was thinking of getting one partly as an activity thing as we'll for short periods. Picture below of one I'm looking at.

My baby had one, went in it twice, it really hinders their development like crawling and walking, it's really bad for their hips and are not recommended, I.didnt know this until I got rid of mine xx

My daughter has the exact one and she’s currently in it as I typešŸ˜‚ helps me get some time

My lo got walker and jumperoo loves both and I have to disagree with the comment that it hinders there crawling as my wee girl is crawling and she only 6month but I would advise not for long periods of time x

I’ve just put my LO in hers, we have a finding memo one (I love the film so it’s more for me haha). After about 10 mins she’s bored. Hoping the more I put her in she’ll like it more. X

We got the Finding Nemo jumperoo on Facebook for Ā£20 and my little guy loves it! He wasn't sure how to bounce in it at first but now he's bouncing mad šŸ˜† he loves interacting with all the activities on it and it gives me a chance to get a little housework done.
I have to disagree about it being bad for them. I have 3 older kids and not one of them has had any issues with their hips, walking or crawling. If anything, they've all got super strong legs (I may have accidentally been kicked a few times play fighting with them and suffered the consequences šŸ˜‚) xx

@Tami this was my thought to just have it for short periods of time! I like to vary her activities anyway.

My baby has this jumper he loves it, he’s only in there while I need to do a few jobs like sort his bottles or sort his breakfast but he loves it and keeps him
Entertained for ages x

Would never use them. They are so bad for hip placement and teaches them bad foot placement

I have had one of these with my first kid. She flipped it over. I do not recommend ones like this. The one I have now for my son it folds up it its a jumper and a swing. My 5 year old daughter can use it also. It looks like a swing thing like at schools.

My little one loves his!! He won't sit in his chair anymore it's too boring and I wasn't getting anything done. His jumperoo has saved me!!

Got mine off Facebook for £10

I have that exact one for my little boy. Got it when he turned 6 months as constantly wanted to be on his feet.

Doesn’t hinder development at all! Unless a baby is maybe left in it all day long. No different to being in a baby carrier if it’s positioned correctly. My little one goes in it for about 15 minutes at time and loves it.

As long as baby is in them for short periods of time then it’s fine. The only way it will hinder development is if they are in it for prolonged periods of time. My baby was in a jumper around 5 months and walker around 6 months and so far he has been on track with development because we still give plenty of floor time. He was crawling at 6 months and at 10 months now he is walking short distances by himself so obviously it didn’t harm him being in them for short periods

I bought my little one it but he won’t last longer than 10 mins in it he hates it 😫

I have the Skip Hop Activity Center and my little one loves it so far! I chose this one in particular as it has an adjustable platform to adjust to the height of baby! I didn’t go with a jumping one as I’ve read it can hinder their hips (I’m a physiotherapist so I wanted something that wouldn’t compromise my babies developing hips) Also only use it for shorter periods of time (10-20 minutes)

I would never use them they set hips in the wrong placement and foot placement x
