Baby cold, advice needed

Hi my 7 week old has caught a cold from me, he is congested, really lethargic, coughing, sneezing, not feeling as much and just wanting to lay on me all day. Any advice on how to help him is greatly appreciated

Saline spray before feeds and wake to feed. Steaming when your having shower in same room x

Keep baby hydrated and rested. When sleeping elevate head with blanket under blanket to help drain any mucus and relieve cough. They'll rest better too. The fever is activating the immune system to fight it. If fever gets to 102+ reach out to Dr. If you have a humidifier run that in room with baby. If not, boil a large pot of water/use saline spray to help with congestion. Keeping baby close to you is great. Skin to skin even better. The oxytocin release will help.

Also a calpol plug in, baby ulbus oil on a tissue and waft it under babies nose, have a hot shower to steam up bathroom and steam baby in there then use a nasal aspirator 👍🏼 good luck, hope your little one is okay 😊

And tilt babies next to me crib at night if you have one so baby is not sleeping flat

My little girl is 6 weeks and exactly the same, it’s so hard to watch 😞

it's awful, he just slept on me all day yesterday, is so lethargic and doesn't seem himself. Listening to him struggling to breathe and cough, having him just look at me because he doesn't understand is heartbreaking 🥺

ok now this has really made me panic and I have been suffering with postpartum anxiety anyway. Any other signs to look out for? He is due his 8 week injections tomorrow and I was thinking I should reschedule until he was better with it being a live vaccine. Does anyone know if this is correct?

I think you’re meant to reschedule. Def keep the apt and use it to check he’s okay. You can refuse the jabs but still be seen ☺️
Don’t panic xx
