Me I actually don’t have anyone to mind my daughter and I work in a nursery leave the house at 6/7 don’t get back until 6/30 not ideal 😩 I could bring her with me but working part time & childcare costs wouldn’t make sense on top of house hold bills and baby essentials x

I was supposed to go back this month but I'm now going back in Jan

I did consider it but just realistically where we are currently at in our lives I just couldn’t afford to :(

aw bless you!! It is tough … you want to spend as much time as you can while they are babies, but you need to consider so much … it’s such a hard time😓😓😓xx

how was your work with you about this? How much notice did you need to give … I’m considering it,but need to weigh up the pros and cons and whether i could afford a bit longer off … what made you want to have longer off?🥰

aw I’m sorry to hear this … it’s horrible how there’s not much support out there for mums / parents who have to go back to work to be able to support their family!!😓when are you due back to work??x

I wish I could. Tbh, if i could afford to i would take a few years out, but I’ve no chance financially 😢.

They were very understanding. I let them know in August and applied for the extra time once they gave me the form. My baby has only just turned 5 months as she's the 21st and I don't have many people who can take her during the week due to them still being in education, having work or being too unwell to have her all those hours. She only has one nursery day a week atm as I'm waiting for a second one to be available so I can work my minimum hours for UC

It really is horrible :(
My maternity leave has officially ended and after some annual leave I’m due to return on 13th November. But I’m just focusing on the good that will come in the new year after a bit of saving etc

I did! Mid feb to mid April x

I started my mat leave the day i hd my little boy- 18th May. I’m taking 9 months mat leave & then all my annual leave for this year so I’m due back April but it’s coming around so quickly & I’m already dreading it. I work 13 hour shifts (days and nights) and we only have child care options for Friday nights, Saturday day/night & sunday until 9pm so I’m going to have to request a fixed pattern of permanent nights i think as my husband does the same job. I thought I’d be raring to get back to work but I’m absolutely not!
