Haemorrhoids and second degree tear?!

Hi ladies, advice really. I gave birth yesterday and have three massive harmorrhoids and a second degree tear. Has anyone else had this and have any tips on how to go for a poo and just any tips on how to heal and be more comfortable. Finding the majority of pain is actually from the haemorrhoids! Help!

I was the same. Thought the hemmorids would disappear as soon as baby was out. Sad to say they will still take some time.

For tear healing I found expert midwife "spritz for your bits" and the bath salts soak were the best for numbing pain. Would also spray the spritz on a pad and freeze it for the next use. Really helped at night. It is expensive but it's totally worth it. And I plan to use my bath salts forever because they smell amazing. Feels like I'm at a spa.

I used anusol for the hemmorids, I found it was the best for easing them down.

First poo, I would recommend just relaxing, try not to think/worry too much about it, just let it happen and don't push. And just clean the whole area as gently and fully as possible. I used wet wipes for this, made it a bit easier.

In regards to second degree tear just keep on top of your pain relief. Double check with a midwife when they advise you can have a bath, then lavender oil is really good for stitches. Personally stitches make me feel queasy so for the first 5 days I just showered minimum once a day and made sure I got the shower head directed upwards to give it a good clean. Then pat dry with a towel. After that I’ve been bathing with the lavender oil, max 15 mins.

For the first poo try not to think about it until you need to go. Then just try and remain calm and don’t push. Hope this helps xxx

I'm 11 days post partum now and I also have haemorrhoids from the pushing and I had an episiotomy. I'm still struggling to walk, go to the toilet and sit comfortably. Hospital gave me lactulose and anusol to use and I'd say the anusol helped a little but wasn't enough to help me go properly without straining even with regular lactulose. My midwife told me to get a suppository but I haven't as hate the thought of it. I have suffered with them before pregnancy so they aren't new to me however these are the worst I've ever had plus the swelling below making it 10 times worse. I've moved onto germaloid cream and find it better and faster acting than anusol. Can buy from supermarket but it isn't the cheapest unless you can find it somewhere like Home Bargains. To relieve mine I get in a hot shower and I've had some baths. Also a hot water bottle on your lower back. Try to eat high fibre foods too. Xxx
