concussion symptoms

hi, can somebody please tell me the signs or what to look for with a concussion in babies/toddlers? how long before the effects show? what to do/avoid during one? etc. i plan to ask her doctor but they are not answering at the moment and i’m a bit anxious.

my poor baby girl tripped on her own foot and fell back on her head pretty hard

TIA

i can tell she’s dizzy, that’s for sure. but is there anything else? can she be dizzy and not have a concussion or is the dizziness a sign that she has one?

Dizziness is a often something they do look for, it may be very mild though especially if no other signs. But we were told dizziness, pupillary reactions not equal, unexplained sickness and tiredness, loss of reflexes, I wanna say there was another but I can't remember and can't find our little leaflet with the info on to share I'm sorry! We're UK based so idk if the advice shared varies 💜 xx

If you are in the UK phone 111 for advice

How old is your little one?
If she’s bumped her head hard it’s definitely best to get her checked out.

Signs to seek medical care would be:
Dizziness
Vommiting
Unusually sleepy
Wound to the head that won’t stop bleeding

Call an ambulance for:
Unconscious
Seizure
Unequal pupils
Any soft areas on the head
Unusual bruising behind ears

thank you all, and sorry for the late reply.. i did end up going to the urgent clinic to get her checked out because she was quiet and acting a bit slow, late response unlike her usual self which worried me even more. she is doing much better since before and seems back to her normal playful and chatty self, she’s balanced so seemingly no more dizziness, but i’m still meant to keep an eye out incase anything pops up.
