Aniball - 37 weeks

Hi all,

I've been using Aniball for a few days now, since I hit 37 weeks. None of my friends or midwives have ever heard of it so feel a bit alone πŸ™ˆ

Finally getting the swing of it now that I'm a few days in.

It's a bit of a panic during that last bit of expelling, I keep worrying it's going to hurt me but so far no pain. Only at 17cm though!

Just wondering, did you all expel it just the once or should I expel it a few times during each session? I'm using it once a day for about 20 mins. Firstly just practising moving it using pelvic floor muscles and then finally expelling it. Taking my time with the expel though, I find it takes a little while to do it nice and slowly.

Really hoping it helps! Just want to hear your routines as I'm keen to do it correctly.

I see your post is from a month ago so probably you already have had your baby. I used Aniball for the first time today. I was doing well and I was proud of myself till the expelling time came.. managed to go half way through but when I reached the bigger part of the ballon (only 5 pumps) I started to feel pain and deflated it. How was your experience? Is it normal to experience that discomfort almost pain the first times ? Xx

Hi both,

I had my little girl on 9th November. She arrived 3 days early and was a healthy 8lb 5.

I stuck with the Aniball but only got up to 20.5cm in the end. Daughter arrived a bit early.

Unfortunately she suffered from shoulder dystocia which we could never have predicted. She was just too large for my hips and her shoulder got stuck. Using Aniball definitely helped me control the initial part of her head being born though and the sensation of Aniball is felt (it's a lot more intense but does feel familiar)

My advice would be to really focus on the breathing that is mentioned when using Aniball. Learning to breathe through each contraction really helps conserve energy and helps you focus on something other than 'ow! The pain 🀣'

I had two very small tears (just 2 stitches) which Dr said was a miracle considering her getting stuck. Took around 2 weeks to feel myself again and heal fully. I will be using Aniball again for child #2 and do recommend πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Hope this helps, good luck to you both xx
