I’m 12 DPO, 8 days late on my period (usually comes the 25th) and I’m feeling sore boobs etc but test still showing negative??

Hello! 12 DPO and 8 days late for your period sounds unusual unless you have a very short luteal phase (the phase after ovulation)? Maybe you’re having a longer cycle so you ovulated late, in which case your period may arrive later. Usually the luteal phase lasts about 10-14 days on average before your period arrives - if it’s under 10 days, it’s considered a short luteal phase and it may be harder to get pregnant because your lining might struggle to grow and thicken enough. But if you just ovulated late, then your period would probably be due soon. You could def still be getting negative tests at 12DPO even if you are pregnant so just keep testing or wait to see if period shows up ☺️

I ovulated late in October but my cycles come consistently each month like clockwork. They never irregular so it’s just odd . Ima go see a Dr

Yea, it can happen! I am always regular too but last month my cycle was very long. So many things can cause delayed ovulation. Hopefully you get your BFP if that’s what you’re aiming for! Good luck ☺️

Mann this is so frustrating 😔. I hope I do bc I’ve been feeling all the signs , what would be the most accurate DPO day to test then?

I think it really varies per person. It depends how late implantation takes place, which can be anywhere from 6-12 days after you ovulate, and then it takes a few days after that for enough hcg to be picked up by a test. I’ve heard some people say they only tested positive a week after their missed period while others get faint lines from like 8DPO. I assume the average is around 12-14DPO, or whenever a period would otherwise be due.
