Mine hates it too and it’s a huge mission to get her to have it
We have to wait for her to start getting fussy then squeeze it in quick

I was told by the doctor as the hospital last week when you’ve squeezed a little at the back of her tongue/cheek then blow in her face, it encourages them to swallow, then do a bit at a time. I never knew this until now & I have 3 kids! It is like fortune bless them, but anything to make them better! Xx

I put the syringe as far back as I can (and as safe) and then close his mouth by pushing his chin gently. Still dribbles out but the most smallest amount x

When my little girl was younger I used a bottle teat and put it into there and she would suckle like a bottle. I would also give her a syringe to play with and she takes it so much better now. She still has her moments and then I’ll put the syringe at the back of her cheek between her gums and gently squeeze her cheeks together so she can’t spit x

Tiny little bits at a time and gently blowing their face so they swallow. I wouldn’t recommend putting a load in at one as she could choke. For his last jabs he could take in far more than before I guess because he is now use to swallowing his drool but before then I’d have to wait until he opens his mouth and put it near the back of his tongue and do tiny bits

Rub under there chin its a reflex to swallow x

I put the calpol into a bottle teat and let him take it like that, never fails for us!

Get the freida baby medicine pacifier - it works wonders!

You can try a spoon too, I hate the calpol.syringe I try to get a little bit out and first its stiff so I put more pressure.on it then it like jolts so a bunch shoots out and makes baby upset 🙃

yeah I remember that when I first used it at 8 weeks! Nearly had him choking because it was so stiff when pushing and pushed a lot because it jumped! After I washed it and sterilised it, it was fine after, weirds enough.

You can get those dummies that you can syringe medicine into , have a look on Amazon , it might help?

I use a teat...so much easier.
Also if you want to use the syringe and the baby ain't taking it..do it in small bits and when it babies mouth slowly blow on them so they swallow it. The hv taught me that trick

I’ve done tricking baby by putting some in them bit of booby then a bit more then booby but when I heard about the blowing in the face I came across a desperate time when my little one was in agony with teething and so I tried it and it works 100% defo give it a go! Xxxx
