Wrist pain after birth

Since I gave birth I’ve noticed I’ve had bad wrist pain. I can’t even bend my thumb and I get tingling sensation. Does anyone know what this is??

I had the same thing. It got really bad 3 weeks after giving birth. My OB told me that it should clear up by my 6 week pp appointment but it didn't. Mine ended up being tendinitis and I had to get steroid shots in my wrists. It could also be carpal tunnel. It think both are very similar

Could be carpal tunnel syndrome. I’ve had it a little bit but I know my mom has had it really bad since having kids and sometimes has to wear a brace

I have the same thing happening! It’s known as “mommy wrist” but the official name is De Quervain's tenosynovitis

I had it with my first baby and got the steroid shot.

I thought they had done something to me at the hospital originally, and then my sister in law asked "how's the wrist pain?" Like she was some kind of mind-reader. Turns out it's mommy wrist and will go away over time. Allegedly wearing a brace that immobilizes your wrist and thumb helps a ton.

If you’re breastfeeding, it could be that it’s from how you’re holding the baby’s head? That happened to me and I tried to find new ways to support her. Pain hasn’t gone totally away but it’s better
