I live with my boyfriend 30 weeks pregnant and I think it’s time for me to move back in with my parents. We have no space and 3 dogs and I want him to get rid of the little dog Daisy. I can’t stand 3 dogs and at 27 weeks pregnant I got bit really badly from Daisy she attacked my dog coco and I was home alone and instinct I went to save my dog and instead I got bite very badly in the arm needed stitches it was a bloody disgusting mess. So I don’t want that dog near my new born baby ever and he doesn’t want to get rid of her so I believe my only option is to move back home with my dog. I am just really sad and feel so lonely in this time. I’m not sure what to do cause I want him to be there for my daughter together with me.

It’s important to care about the safety of your child especially a new born around animals so if that’s the best thing to do for you and your baby I agree to leave unless he gets rid of the aggressive puppy

Did the hospital not ask for the dog? I know my in laws dog attacked a family member and they were looking for the dog they wanted to put her down

Report to dog/animal control and say it was a requirement in the hospital when you got treatment

Humans before animals. This sized attack on an infant is fatal. If your boyfriend would rather be with a dog over his own child, he needs to reevaluate his choices.

I’m sorry you’re in this situation. But I think you are doing the best you can for your baby. You want him to be a father who prioritises his baby’s and partner’s safety. Not a man who would rather live in denial than give up his dog, aka prioritise his dog over his wife and daughter. Moving back home might be the only way to make him realise what’s really important in his life. If he doesn’t realise it, do you really want him to teach your daughter the values in life? You are a very strong mama x

Wow! That’s seriously dangerous and should be taken seriously! If he’s willing to put the dog before his child then that says alot! Go with your instinct and protect yourself and child!

this!!!!!

Thank you guys so so much for this support I feel so alone and I was hoping I would have a her father to go thru this with but he isn’t being fair I feel like it suck’s I am the one who has to go and not the dog. I’m just so sad.

hugs - I can’t imagine

I run a trap and rescue in Tucson. I can reach out to other rescues in your area and see if we can rehome the dog. You can have control by meeting the new family. Doing home checks. And you’ll be able to have your own requirements. You shouldn’t have to feel guilty / shame or wonder if you’re doing the right thing. The moment you feel something’s off about a dog around your baby. Trust and lean into that feeling. There’s a reason why women are referred to as momma bears. We’ve had 4 cases of pregnant women saying I’m not sure if I can trust my dog. And every single one ended up in our care bc the dog behaved terrible or actually hurt the baby. Sadly it has to be you stay or the dog goes. The dog and the baby doesnt need to be even questioned. Your baby and your safety trumps everything * over dog.

Terrible grammar !- sorry!! My point is , your comfort and your needs are more important than the connection he might feel to the dog. As an animal lover I can sympathize with the pain of rehoming a dog. But please trust me. I know I’m a stranger. Pregnant women have a sense about danger around their babies. Since you’ve already gotten hurt by the dog, the dog is going to view you as a threat to itself. The dog will see the baby as an extension of you and will have a difficult time bonding or feeling good around the baby.

My apologies for your recent experience. ♥️
That being said you both can still work together even though you’ll be in separate places. You and baby’s safety comes first.
