My 4 week old has a cold- super snuffly and grunty and struggling to clear his chest/ nose when he’s getting down to sleep. It breaks my heart but health visitor and hospital saw him last week and basically said no issues. Anyone got any tips for making it easier for him/ curing this?

Can you prop him up?
My bedside crib lets me tilt, so that I can still keep the bed flat but raised on an angle to help in situations like this?
There's also those snot sucker things that you can buy to help clear his nose before you put him down?

My three week old is just coming out the other side of a cold
She wouldn't sleep on her back so me and my husband have been sleeping in shifts, one of us stays awake and holds the baby upright so she can sleep, and the other one sleeps. It's been a tough week but she's back to sleeping in her bed now.
Snot suckers, saline drops and steam help too

I am in the same situation , my child is 2months 4days old. I have been advised to use a humidifier with eucalyptus / tea tree oil to help with the mucus/congestion. And I am using saline spray and at times using frida nose sucction. Doing the nose sucction right before putting him to sleep.
Thanks guys I’ll have a look at the steam stuff and if I can tilt his next to me. I’ve been doing the saline spray but when I’ve tried the snot sucker it does nothing!

Poor thing, maybe take a warm shower with the baby too before bed, the steam from the shower will help
