Diaper Rash
Help! My sons had a diaper rash for the past 48 hours, its not getting worse but also not getting better.
I’ve tried A&D, and aquafor. We did a breastmilk bath last night! Any other recs? It doesn’t seem to be bothering him but I don’t want it to get to that point!!!

Citric-aid clear clear moisture barrier ointment “for minor to severe skin irritation due to incontinence” in a purple bottle worked for us! Make sure to apply it thick every time you change his diaper. Ours cleared up in two days!

My sister got this “recipe” from a NICU doctor and it’s like magic. Diaper rash gone within 24-48 hours. If you do make it and use it, just make sure to apply it liberally.
Caldesene powder, aquaphor, desitin, and milk of magnesia. Equal parts of everything until you get the paste consistency you are looking for and the more zinc oxide you can find in creams the better. Auquaphor desitin and a&d ointment all have a extra strength with lots of zinc

Whenever mine has a red butt I just sit with her naked and a puppy pad on my lap for an hour or 2. It's usually much better or gone by the next day and best of all free
We've just used petroleum jelly since birth for our son. Pediatrician told us use more than you think is necessary on bad outbreaks
Coconut oil. Sounded crazy when we heard this, but it cleared it up in a day or 2.
With my daughter I stopped using wipes and switched to only rinsing her off in the sink with very luke warm water. More time consuming but her diaper rash was bad and that’s the only that helped!

My son had a chemical burn from his poops. Took almost 2 weeks to go away. We used a&D treatment and prevent, and butt paste. Baths with breastmill and at least 2min without a diaper every diaper change (it sucked lol)

Coming back to amend my answer - our son’s rash came back but way worse and I called the pediatrician and it is a yeast rash, very common in newborns particularly those with frequent bowel movements. Needed to treat with Lotrimin AF antifungal cream which you get in athletes foot sectionof grocery or drug store. Apply 4x a day. Other times just do aquafor. It has been 24 h and dramatic difference. Call your pediatrician first but that might be what your babe has too!
