So obviously with the weather getting colder I'm putting a hat on my baby when we go out, but it lasts all of 5 minutes before she pulls it off, she gets very angry with me when I put it back on and it comes straight off again over and over until I give up, I've tried distracting her with toys which only lasts a few minutes, when I see her go for it I tell her no, she just thinks it's a game. I don't want her to get cold and feel like people are judging me for not having a hat on her 🙁 anyone else? Anybody got any tips they could share?

My LO is the same, I would put the hat on throughout the day so he got used to it and i found that he doesn't like certain materials.

My wee one was the same how is she with a hood? Once we did that we put a hat on with the hood over the hat jacket zipped ip for a while now we can just do hat she has her moments when she pulls it off but not as bad as we used to be x

My LG only likes knitted/crochet/sleep hats. She doesn't like fleece hats like the ones that have the ear flap things

My boy also removes most hats especially if too warm. I found what works best for us is to wait a little bit before putting the hat on, so he has a little (short!) cold sensation outside, then he’s much more likely to accept what I put on his head. I only use a thin cotton hat and then on top of that the hood of his suit or jacket that barely touches him.

My boy does the exact same and has a full on tantrum if I put it back on 😂😂😂 I have a thick coat with a warm hood so I use that if he refuses to wear it and he’s in the pushchair anyway so with the foot muff and pulling the hood of the pushchair forward it’s usually okay

Having the same problem she won’t wear anything on her head and she’s only just started doing that!x

Same issue, he hates any hat and hoods too. Weird as he was a winter baby and loved hats when he was little he would hold onto them as a sort of comforter. When in pram or carrier I just pull the hood up behind his head and over, but try not to have it touching him 🤣 and if in carrier I'll hold his hands as we walk to distract him. I also don't put it on until he can feel that its nicer than being cold, but he honestly doesn't seem to mind the cold and as long as he's dressed snug and warm, I don't think it matters the same as when they're tiny.

I use a hat that has strings so I can tie it under the neck always works x

The only hat I've found that my boy will tolerate is a knitted one of shein. Its not made of wool (his dad has a wool allergy and we think he might have it too as he gets similar symptoms) other than that I put hoodies on him and put the hood up unless he's in the car seat and then he's only outside between the house and the car so it's normally not an issue. When we go on walks and he's in the carrier I normally go hat then hood to keep it on his head.

Can you use a pramsuit or coat with a nice cosy hood? My little one takes his hat off too but if his coat is done up snug on him the hood covers his head and ears

I used a jumper with a hood until baby got used to having something on his head

I thought this was only my son 😂😂😂🥹. The even some how pulls the rain over off and would rather it rains on him 🥹😮💨

Don’t feel judged at all. They often don’t like having things on their heads.
What about using a hood on a jacket or jumper? Hoodies can be soft and furry inside.
I would say just have a try every couple of days. You’ll get there in the end, and if they don’t want it on, that’s fine too xx
