Bless my sweet partner first of all.
But he turned on the damn space heater in the middle of the night and bubs room was a good 88 degrees.
Can you please tell me why anyone would to that? He is room sharing and he did it with good itnent apparently worried bub would be cold.
But COME ON. Everywhere for babies and comfortable safe sleep it shows an acceptable temp range.
I'm not bashing my partner but this is really messed up. How am I supposed to have a productive talk about this when I'm all worked up and mad because he should have known better to begin with π‘
Throw the space heater away? Got it! Because I'm mad enough I want to do that so I can elimnate the risk of overheating. Can't turn it on if it doesn't exist.
And I love my partner. He is so incredibly helpful. But I repeat my title.
What. The. F***
Mostly just panicking that he won't be OK. Worried about the baby.

Um, men do dumb s***. A lot of dumb s***. All the time. So it is completely possible to calm yourself and talk to him like you need to. You have to remember that their common sense is about stuff like cars - don't put diesel in a car that takes regular, etc. Most women are built with baby common sense - don't leave him in the bathtub, cut up the chicken so he doesn't choke, don't turn his bedroom into a sweatlodge... Babies are tough. Tougher than we give them credit for. And most men will listen and remember something if they know it's REALLY important. So make sure you tell him that this one was so big you had to calm yourself first to make sure you were kind when you talked. And speak slowly lol. It's gonna be ok. Babies survive Dads
@Andrea don't turn his bedroom into a sweat lodge π I can't help but laugh. Jesus. I love this man but I was just so mad when I saw how hot it was and thought "the temp gauge must be broken. I'll just go in and double check" I'll try to calm down and just gently explain this is important to me and important overall.
I thought there was a fire burning in the room for real (from the rush of heat) scared me to death.

Yeah I impressed myself with that one. And I'm sure you panicked. Like, might as well throw the man out with the heater just to be safe. But sorry sister, they are all like that. Except the pediatricians and those probably can't remember to turn the stove off after they cook. My mom always said "Do you want a man or don't you" I am CONSTANTLY reminding mine to cut up the chicken. And I think he finally understands about the bathtub. But at least once a month I walk into a room and think WHAT THE F***. At least they are good at making more babies lol
@Andrea double whammy. Mine is not a pediatrician and frequently leaves the stove on! π
Thank you for this perspective though. I think it helped me slow down and calm down. I didn't need more fuel on the fire. Because I didn't want to start an argument about it later.. It's his day off so i'm letting him sleep in as usual. He did mention in passing as I was getting the baby from the room too start his day that it seemed cold in there and I said. Yeah, but I think you made it a little bit too hot. So maybe we can find a better solution.

He meant well. He was trying lol
@Andrea I know. He's truly a sweet man and he loves us. I just couldn't even ππ«
