Bumped head
I’m in a need of advise as I always disagree with my partner on many things concerning our child. Most of the time he is right, but it will make me feel better and safer to get the opinion from someone not connected.
Friday our toddler went swimming, we had a meltdown while drying hair. Wrapped LO in warm onesie with hood, and took to the car.
Evening after bath I though we will try to dry hair again, but LO started running like crazy screaming and LO finally tripped on its foot and hit the head on a tv stand. It had the soft padding for bumps so that was a relief but it was a hard hit in my opinion. It was LO’s forehead high on one side. It was all fine, yesterday when I was touching the bump, LO was crying so it was hurting, but only from touch. But apparently that normal coz it’s sore etc. no other symptoms or anything that we could suspect concussion.
But today, so Sunday, Lo is walking mainly with head to one side and constantly talking “mummy my ear”. Still behaves normal with all plays, doesn’t have any symptoms of concussion, apart of that.
So I am unsure what to do. To take LO to the a&e, make Lo screaming from waiting hours, or should I trust my partner that it’s normal. Maybe LO has ear infection after swimming? Is it possible water stayed in ear but only showed 2 days later?
Please advice, as I can’t make my own decision without any supporting things, it will start massive argue with my partner and our LO watched enough arguments already, and I’m trying to avoid it 🙏🏻🙏🏻

If it’s not an emergency, which it doesn’t sound like, it’s not a job for A&E. You could ring 111 for some advice, or you could phone the GP tomorrow just to get him checked over and his ear examined.
Is there any liquid coming out of the ear?
I don’t want to scare you, but my girl got kicked in the face at a soft play and didn’t have any symptoms until the next day. I took her to a&e and they done an mri on her and said she had a perforated ear drum xx
I personally didn’t see any, but after sleep LO had like a dry white in front of that ear, same like from crying and it dries up. But not sure what was it and it was only then, I cleared it up and no more. Can’t see anything leaking from the ear overall so not sure if it was after sleeping from eyes and went down that side or no. 😟
I think there's no harm in getting the little one checked out. If they are fine today, I would call the GP I'm the morning, explain the situation and just say LO is complaining about a sore ear after a head bump 2 days ago. tbh even though your partner may think its nothing, it's always better to go with your mummy instinct amd rather the Dr clear it as nothing. I really don't think you wanting to check further should cause an argument, as its for your child's sake and that's what should matter not his ego.
