BF baby still refusing bottles

We cracked it by me going out and leaving her with dad. He offered it to her after she had been with him a few hours. She took it straight away 🤷‍♀️
The other night I had literally just pumped and she woke up wanting boob (which had no milk left) and would not take the bottle from me. She was fairly sleepy and was sucking boob with eyes closed so I kind of poked her mouth with the bottle teat tipped upside down so milk could come out (kind of like when you put a finger in to unlatch them, but more gentle), and I think she sensed milk coming from it and she moved across to the teat and drank the whole bottle without opening her eyes.

Have you tried with a straw cup like the tum tum? Might be less messy than an open cup x

We've tried leaving him with people to which he would drink bare minimum of milk through the normal MAM bottles (max 50ml). I love the trickery of the night feed! Haha I might need to start doing this when I wean off BF. Does she bow take the bottle during the day @Jennifer.
@Xanthe we have something extremely similar to the tum tum and he just doesn't suck. He would literally just chew (with his 0 teeth) on the straw!!
@Helen I totally understand. We boil and cool water only for the baby to waste 90% of it on their clothes!!!

She does drink during the day from my partner (I’m back at work now so she has to) but she often only drinks small amounts at a time. She does seem to be increasing the amount she drinks in one go gradually (still only like 90ml though), so I wouldn’t worry if it is a small amount. Just offer regularly and once they get more used it it they might start drinking more in one go. My partner usuall managed to get her to drink roughly 200ml while I’m away, and I feed her at around 7.30-8am, 6pm, 8pm, 11pm and sometimes 3am, so I hope she is getting enough overall

Also she will only take it if warm

Thanks @Jennifer. Yeah we're going on am International flight and I know how dehydrating that can be so hoping lil one drinks a little more and from others too. Right now as long as he see's me. He will refuse bottle haha not back to work yet but need to wean soon.... does your lil one bite you?

I’m also looking for some miracle. I’ve tried about 4 different bottles and cups and she doesn’t take anything. She only drinks water out of an open cup, tried milk and she just pushes away 😅 don’t know what to do x

Mine has no teeth (which I’m not at all upset about) so no biting yet!

Mine has no teeth but he comps down with his gums!! It hurts haha

@Letícia oh I feel your pain. I just keep giving him a bottle at this point haha let his chew on it

Have you tried any of the tricks to get them to take the straw cup? Putting a little bit of yoghurt at the end has worked for some, and another thing you can try is blowing into it gently which should cause the water to rise to the top of the straw. If they are able to take water like this, breast milk should hopefully work too!
