Looks like eczema

you wouldn’t believe that we’ve already tried cream on him as well as baby oil. It’s like it’s just made it worse. Idk what to do now. It’s around his neck too. It’s so dry!

@Nicola Unfortunately sometimes you have to try several before you find one that helps.
Still having this issue with my eldest and he's 9. A cream works for awhile and then it suddenly doesn't 🤦‍♀️

Try putting cornstarch on it I did that for my 3 year old and she healed so quickly

to be honest I think soap is what started it all in the bath

that looks so itchy and sore!! How old is your LB?

he’s almost 11 months now, but I’d say it started around 4/5 months old. It’s definitely itchy because he’s constantly scratching/pulling at his clothes 😢

I’ve heard breast milk in the bath might help. Also oatmeal bath (put oatmeal in a sock and soak it in the bath). Might help calm the skin. Worth a try

I would for sure bring this up at the next doctors appointment

We had excema, we found the following worked...

Stop using any bath products/lotions.
Keep baths to an absolute minimum.
Switch to non bio and Stop using conditioner in the wash.
Mitts on hands to stop scratching.
Make a drs appointment... they may prescribe antibiotics, steriod cream and baby piriton if rash is worsening.
Once we got a hold on the rash by doing the above we continued using hydromol (can be bought over the counter/online or be prescribed)

Note if rash isn't in nappy area its likely contact with clothing triggering it.

Gp also advised using red bush tea in bath (but never got around to it)

Initially a pharmacist recommended and sold us diprobase... my god did it make it worse as did sudocrem. Cue frantically washing it off almost as soon as it made contact.

I know how horrible it is when they are frustrated and scratching but cut everything out and work on process of elimination. If first cream doesn't work from doctor go back and get them to give you another.

Go to his doctor! Could be eczema or contact dermatitis. My son had this at 2 months and it turned out to be severe eczema. He is extremely sensitive to soaps. I had to change laundry detergent & his body wash as they were making it worse.

Stop with the creams and soaps and give oatmeal baths.. if you're bf/have a milk stash, add some onto LO clean skin.. dab dry after baths and dress in 100% Cotton clothing.. defo see the docs x

try and oatmeal bath mama my sons skin rashes that were patchy and dry the lotions and creams seemed to not help or make it worse but the oatmeal bath is the one thing we could count on same with diaper rashes

Thank you everyone! I’ve finally managed to get an appointment at the doctors for my lo today! I’m going to stop with creams and soaps as that is what I was previously using before so I think that is what started it

Try cutting out wheat and oats for now. My son’s doctor says it makes eczema & skin conditions worse. Make sure all his clothes, sheets, any blankets he comes into contact with, etc are washed with a mild baby detergent.
These things helped ease my son’s eczema/rash.
Also make sure to use a baby soap that is specifically for sensitive skin.

You may have to see a dermatologist to get answers.
