Bottle prep

The prep machines are an absolute godsend! They make bottles up in minutes, rather than having to boil the kettle and wait for the boiling water to cool with a screaming baby in your arms at 3am! I’ve kept our prep machine incase we have another as it’s the one thing we used the most!

Prep machine is really good especially at night, makes the bottles in 2 minutes at the correct temperature so I’m not sure if the bottle warmer will be useful x

As people have said, prep machine is good for making bottles quickly if you’re formula feeding. Are they new or second hand? If second hand, make sure to fully clean and descale it first and get a new filter for it. You can find the manuals online if you don’t have it.
The bottle warmer is good if you feed pumped breastmilk, or when they’re older and on cows milk, to warm bottles up relatively quickly. I think some food pouches can go in them too, but don’t quote me on that as we never used pouches. You put water in it, it heats the water, and the bottle sits inside and warms up. Again, you’ll find manuals online

I got one as i'm having a csection & putting it by my bed so i dont have to keep hurting myself getting up.
That was my main reason for buying it so in that sense its going to be very good!
They wasnt invented when my son was born 9 years ago.
Has its pluses for night feeds not having pour boiling water out into bottle half asleep or wait for it to cool down while baby screams but its pricey! I picked mine up 2nd hand.
You will need to buy a new filter for it.

I did combi feeding so got both. I I second opinions about the prep machine, it's a must have. The bottle warmer, I used it two days for my expressed milk and I just didn't get the fuss and didn't use it ever again, it was quicker than the old fashion way of hot water in a container and warming it that way but I just couldn't get the measuraments, I felt that it took as long and it used space on mh already tight kitchen counter.
However, I do know that people love the bottle warmer and people find it really helpful, you have to see what works for you and your family!.

Loved the prep machine. When your baby goes from happy to hangry in 2 seconds you will understand. I never had a bottle warmer so can't comment in that

nothing worse than ur baby screaming blue murder while u stare at a bottle willing it to cool down i remember with my son years ago he was screaming while it was cooling then i accidently knocked it over i think i cried lol had to make a whole new one.didnt have prep machines then so this will help!

I have a prep machine upstairs for night feeds, during the day I just use the kettle for a hotshot and keep a bottle of boiled water in the fridge to make them up quickly

If you want to formula feed the prep machine is a saviour!!!!!

Prep machine is a godsend! It literally takes 2 minutes to make and the baby finds watching the bottle being made entertaining. I expressed and feed breastmilk so a bottle warmer was great for quickly warming a breastmilk bottle

I have two prep machines, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. They were an absolute godsend when my daughter was crying the middle of the night and wanting a bottle. Now she knows the sound of the prep machine and watches it while it makes it.

We don’t use our bottle warmer, but the prep machine is amazing, I couldn’t live without it!😄

I know everyone loves the prep machine but a recent study showed that they aren’t actually sterile.

I wouldn’t use the bottle prep they are notorious for not heating the water hot enough to kill the bacteria and several nhs posts about these recommend against using them much better, more sterile and safer for you to do a hot shot of boiling water then top up with cooled boiled water. Eg. 2oz hot 4 oz cold. You can prep the cooked boiled water each morning/day and kettle takes the same time to boil as your prep machine will take so for me it’s a no brained and have avoided buying a prep machine 👍🏻

Just watch out with the prep machines as they’ve been proven not to heat the hot shot to the minimum required amount so I’d test it if you can as that can make them poorly. Also heard a lot of things about windy collicy babies who improved once the prep machine was ditched.
Obviously it works great for some people I just personally wouldn’t risk it if it’s not heating the hot shot enough xx

I was advised against the prep machine because the water never gets to boiling point to kill off any germs. I also heard from other mams here that it made their babies collicy so I've opted for the nuby bottle cooler, it cools a bottle from boiling to the perfect temp in 2 minutes, they also do a flask that keeps the bottle warm if you need to leave the house x

Prep machine all the way.. I swear by money wouldn't be without it now .. got gifted a bottle warmer too but never used it honestly xx
