Looking for advice when it comes to weaning, any advice would be helpful as my health visitor hasn’t seen us since my little girl was 8 weeks old and once again at 4 months and hasn’t been any help. First time mum so want to make sure I’m doing it right
TIA

Depends how you wanna do it. Spoon feeding or baby led weaning
ideally maybe trying a mix of both

‘Weaning the BLW way’ is a great resource I’ve found for information. I offer my little boy exactly what I eat modified (so no added salt or sugar) and cut appropriately.
Spoon feeding is as it comes really, you blend up foods and spoon feed them. You may find she’s a lack of interest in the BLW part as she gets used to being spoon fed x
You can ring up your HV and ask for them to ring you back or come around
thank you!

There’s a great book called “how to wean your baby” which you could look for in your local library, or they’ll definitely have some other books about weaning.
Definitely don’t rely on health visitors to teach you what you need to know about parenting, they’re too stretched and don’t always have up-to-date training anyway 😊

My local family center had an in person and online course on baby weaning (free) so might be worth having a look if there is one in your area. You can also request to see a health visitor if you wanted to 😊
