Paternal figure

My 7 yo boy has been asking about his dad, he knows him but they do not see each other because of the distance and that my ex is not the greatest dad.

My father died long ago and my grand father is very sick.

I was thinking of going for the big brothers/sisters but I am stressed due to the many issues years ago with pedophiles being in the organization. Do you have any ideas how my son could have a male/paternal figure in his life?

Thank you

Honestly, the best way I can think of is to get involved in a good local church. As you get involved in a good church community, good strong male figures follow

Any married friends with husbands who could be called "uncle"?
Or any good male friends? Usually the married ones seem to be more interested in this kind of role. Otherwise extended family? cousins or uncles of yourself?

Otherwise maybe one of your son's friend's fathers?

I agree with the above lol I was going to say any siblings or cousins or close friends? Those are the ones that I chose to go to cause I am super overprotective and have the same fears as you, so someone I know and know would respect me and my rules would be my choice or suggestion.

I also knew someone who was a part of the Big Brothers thing and he was a good person so sometimes you can luck out, maybe talk to them and see if you can meet the person first or something like that.
