No idea what to do…

My 9 weeker was drinking 4oz every 3 hrs like clock work and all of a sudden today he is drinking about 2 oz and refusing the rest and then being a little fussier than usual. He’s on Nutramigen for a milk allergy. No fever and no symptoms of being sick so idk what’s wrong?? I am sick with congestion tho right now so I’m worried I got him sick even tho I’ve been super careful to not get too in his face :( any ideas on what to do or how to help him?

How is he acting? Like does he seem his normal self other than a little more fussy?? My 10 week old is going through something similar. Was doing 4 ounces every 2ish hours and now only does 2-3 ounces. On soy formula as well for a milk allergy. We took him to the doctor bc he had been doing it for 3 days in a row and we were worried maybe he’s constipated or something. Doctor said just to watch him but as long as he’s still acting pretty normal then he probably just has a small bug or something. If he doesn’t improve by end of week then early next we’re gonna do an X-ray to see if he is constipated or has something else happening

no other symptoms other than just a little fussier than usual. He’s a big baby so I’m just shocked he’s not interested in his bottles. He’s usually fighting my hand to get a hold of it and now he’s refusing them after drinking a little. No idea.

Same here! We went to the dr yesterday bc of the eating and he’s 15lbs lol he’s a chunk. Maybe something is just going around right now. Like I said our dr said that if he doesn’t improve by end of week then we’ll schedule other tests just to make sure so maybe call yours and see if they’d follow the same or just keep watching him 💕

Are you making his formula with room temperature water? Nutramigen is not suppose to be heated up or anything it's suppose to be room temp or the abilities it has don't work. We were given that formula for my baby and we didn't realize we weren't suppose to heat it up bc the Dr never told us. But it doesn't seem to help my baby so we're going back to soy

we premake it in the pitcher and put it in the fridge and then microwave it for 15 secs to make it room temp so maybe that’s why? It’s not hot just not ice cold

Yes so heating it up like that is probably counter acting the stuff in the formula I would just let the bottle sit out for a little to get to room temperature instead and see if that helps your little one

Growth or developmental spurt.. very normal during this time. I’m going through the same

If it helps any one, we put just the water in the bottle warmer, and then add the formula after, this way the formula isn’t actually being heated, we started doing this when we tried nutramigen because we saw it shouldn’t be heated, our pediatrician uses the same formula for her baby and told us that what she did. Our little one cluster feeds wanting less food more often she has reflux and floppy airways, the fussyness and not wanting to eat could be baby just wants to cluster rather than having big meals
