Tummy time 4 months old

Hi all, my little girl is 4 months old (18 weeks) and we are still struggling with tummy time on the floor. She has excellent head control in sitting and when upright however on the floor she won't hold herself up using her arms (even though she can) and just gets really cross. She keeps trying to roll from back to front which I'm hoping when she masters it will help but I'm not sure if this is ok for her age or whether I should be doing more!? Thanks x

Have you tried a tummy time pillow they are kidney bean shaped and go under the tummy so they learn

I have indeed! She is slightly better with the pillow :) I think I'm probably overthinking it. I've been going to baby groups since she was a month old and always seen 4 month babies seem really good at TT so I assumed that's what she'd be like πŸ˜‚ xx

I found that having one of those water matts helped with my LO as it made it more interesting for him πŸ€—

I'm in same situation. He hates it's but has amazing head crontol when upright.

Just persevere with it. I brought one of those Mats. I need to set it up and hope it helps

I've bought one too! Will also set up the mat this afternoon. I wondered whether it was because often I use her play mat for TT and it's quite slippy! Harder to grip πŸ˜‚ xx

My baby was exactly the same, then last week he randomly rolled tummy to back and now he's amazing at tummy time! I kept putting him on his side and encouraging him to roll and he got the hang of it. Only problem now is he rolls out of tummy time constantly 🀣🀣
