Baby acne or CMPA or something else?
Over the last week, this rash has started and progressed to this. It’s on her scalp face neck and top of chest. She’s on cow & gate since birth, she’s 7 weeks old. Is this just definitely baby acne? I thought I read it could be CMPA if she is red at her bottom, which she does have (not like nappy rash) would appreciate your thoughts (I just wipe face daily with cotton wool and cooled boiled water) other than the rash she is well xx pic now added

No, baby acne normally starts within birth to 4 weeks, it might be eczema, my boy developed it at 6 weeks, doctor did say it was acne, now at 8 weeks they've said its actually eczema and he's having steroid cream to get it under control, see your gp or health visitor x

I am literally at the docs waiting to be seen for this. Mine is on C&G comfort, she’s had it for nearly a week now, just face and neck. Health visitor asked me to see doc for allergy test, I will let you know what the doc thinks when I have been seen. Baby is 6weeks Sat

So she thinks just baby acne - not completely ruling out CMPA but without other symptoms at this stage just to monitor and she thinks it will clear up. She prescribed metanium for her bum. X
Interesting….. I hope it clears up for her. We’ve got our checks on Monday, so I’m going to get a second opinion, as she rolled her eyes at elegant the health visitor said, but they are trained in paediatric’s and see babies every day, so I’ll let you know what the other doc says x
That’s frustrating, can’t believe she rolled her eyes 😤 But at least you have another appointment lined up, hope you get sorted 🤞🏼 My wee one’s vaccines and check up is in a couple weeks so I’m going to give it to then. She said I could put baby Aveeno moisturiser on her face, I’ve also ordered pure raw coconut oil as I’ve read that is also v good for baby acne. Good luck 🙏🏼 xx
I know!!! So annoying. Ahhh I read bout coconut oil too. Hopefully that will ease, I know of it is baby acne it says it’s supposed to ease in a few weeks, so fingers crossed, crazy that they have the same spots, like identical, yet ones saying allergy, one’s saying heat rash and then the other is saying baby acne 🥴 xx
