I can't seem to keep my little girl warm. Last night my bedroom was 17 degrees, she went to bed in a vest, sleep suit, 2.5tog sleeping bag, 4 knitted blankets, one quilted blanket and my duvet over the top. She woke at midnight and her hands were like ice and her chest was only just warm. She's 8 weeks, she has her jabs and health check tomorrow so I will bring it up with the GP then, but does anyone have any ideas how I can keep her warm?

For babies hands you can either use scratch mits or some sleepsuits have the turn over bits on the hands so you can use that.
You can also get a 3.5 tog but I’m pretty sure that’s for rooms under 16 degrees.
Just bd careful baby doesn’t over heat, if babies to cold they will wake up, how ever if they to warm them won’t xx

I would take her temperature if you're worried about how her chest feels and report back to GP. Hands are normally cold xx

I was concerned that with all those layers her chest was still only just warm. Surely that should be too many layers. I was waking very often to check she wasn't too hot or cold. She is waking up and not particularly feeding much so I think she's just cold xx

Too many layers and the heat gets trapped between thr layers and the baby isn't seeing the benefit my little on is literally in a vest and a fleece baby grow under a fluffy blanket but he often kicks his blanket off in the night. His hands are always cold but he's not actually cold as he's sleeping really well. He tells us when he's cold as he was sleeping in a draft at my in laws the other week and was up multiple times in the night. Our room is only 16/17 degrees overnight. We will be trying a sleeping bag but we've onky just managed to ditch the swaddle in preparation for rolling.

I have my bedroom around 20 degrees and my baby wears short sleeve vest sleepsuit and 2.5 tog sleeping bag, she has her hands covered with the sleepsuit folded over. She has one blanket over her bottom half arms out. Always feel the chest or back to see if they are warm enough hands and feet always colder than actual body. X

My hv said when she was newborn not to go off how cold her hands are so I know they're meant to be colder than the rest of her, but they were ice cold last night. Surely that can't be good. This is my 6th baby and all of my others definitely didn't have really cold hands 🤷 xx
