Am I just a terrible mom? She won’t say mama. I’ve done all the things I’ve seen to help her learn that’s what to call me. She used to babble mama and dada all the time, but now she’s still babbling but doesn’t really say mama. She can say cat and dog and will sometimes repeat words or at least try to. Idk what I’m doing wrong but I feel like a bad mom.

I think you should be fine! Babies sometimes start babbling mama and dadad, but they don't really mean mom and dad, just pure babbling. She might now be starting to talk and cat and dog and her first words which is a huge success!. My baby doesnt say anything but babbles and he's 1. I wouldn't worry too much at this stage!

My daughter just turned one in October, literally only says mama if she sad. She’ll just wine for me. She says dada a lot. Her favorite thing is HI and waving at everyone and everything. My daughter also tries ti say words. If I ask her what some animals say she’ll make the noise they make. Sometimes I have to correct her. She said purple today which was cool.
I just think she’s learning new words and new things so she’s practicing those noises. She knows your mama! Don’t feel bad!!

My firstborn didn’t say it until he was 2.5 and skipped right over “Mama” and called me “Mom.” 😅😭 I’m hoping my second born will say “mama.” He turned one today and hasn’t said any words at all, he just grunts. 🤣 So I think you’re doing an AMAZING job! Your daughter is already talking and able to show communication development, you’re not a terrible mom at all!

My baby cals everything and everyone “dada”. Baby loves you, don’t take it personal!

@Alyssa my little girl only says mama when upset or whining too 😂

My son has a big vocabulary for his being 1. 15-20 words, 2 and 3 word sentences. He doesn't say mama. He says daddy and Nana.
I was outside on our porch last night and my son looked at his dad and said "daddy she bye" and pointed at me on the porch through the window.
It doesn't mean you're a bad mom.
