Plagiarism??

So would it be considered plagiarism if I was to follow a canvas art tutorial on YouTube and sell my art?
Since it’s like copying the original idea, but the drawing is still done by me. However mine never turns out looking like the original.

Anyways, would it be considered wrong to sell them?

Hi! A lot of you tube artists (eg Paul Clark) explicitly say in their t&c’s you are not allowed to sell the work you make from tutorials. It may be worth asking the you tuber directly to ask their permission.
Another thing to consider also is where the reference image came from - if it is a photo taken by the you tuber then they hold copyright and you aren’t allowed to use it without permission for the purposes of selling art. The reference image must be free of copyright or you must have permission if you want to sell any artwork.

Yes if the image is meant to be the same it's plagiarism. You can use techniques but should be a completely different image one you have thought up. You can copy for your own personal use but not to sell. So one I've seen on you tube was a tree going through the seasons so 4 different stripes behind each representing a season and as they go along the tree was in that season was lovely you can use this idea as it's been used many a time but it should be your own colours and techniques and interpretation of that idea x

Yes, learn the technique and come up with your own image, otherwise it’s not your idea or art.

As long as you are not selling it as your own idea, it is ok. I mean, you can repaint "Monet" and sell it as long as you don't sell it as a "Monet".
