Surprise stay at labor and delivery today

I'm 34 weeks nearly 35, went in for a typical appointment. My blood pressure was high, 140 and then 142. They sent me across the street to the hospital to get admitted for monitoring. My blood pressure went back down to 120s and under. Baby's heart beat sounded great. To my surprise I had a couple of contractions while I was there and I didn't feel them at all but they can see it on the monitor. 👀 They said I had some protein in my urine and now I get to gather pee samples for the next 24 hours. Seems like I might have some blood pressure issues (or maybe not?) My blood work came back normal. They may induce me at week 37 making this a December baby instead of January. It's been a roller coaster but I'm trying to keep calm and not stress too much. I wonder if the Thanksgiving food and some family stress did me over today.

I'm so sorry that happened to you! But glad you and baby are good. What was your bottom number?

My blood pressure was at 140 when my midwife checked it but she didn't seem too worried. She wanted me to check it a few days later and it was at 149, and later went back down to 132. I'm hoping my blood pressure doesn't cause any issues. I wonder if midwives are less worried about these things?

I’m in the exact same boat sis. I went in for my 34 week and ended up in the hospital overnight because of bp. Being induced next week with preeclampsia. That’s what they’re testing for with the urine but it’s completely manageable! 3 weeks early is still perfect timing ❤️

Girl!!!!! This exactly what happened to me!!! Verbatim😭😭😭😭 on Friday at my regular appointment stayed until Saturday night.

I’m okay now but im certain I’ll deliver in the next 2 weeks.

I've been worried about mine lately due to swelling. We're you swelling any with the blood pressure being up? What would be the date if you go at 37 weeks?

ty! It was mostly in the 80s. I was kinda freaked out so I was trying to tune the nurse out.

good to know. They're going to check me again in a few days.

I'm not swelling at all thankfully. Id be induced the week before Christmas which is kind of a silver lining to have baby for that.

@Beebs I see. Glad your not swelling that's a good sign! I was with my first and ended up going at 37 weeks with preclampsia. This time 38 weeks for me would be a lil after x mas so I'm hoping to at least make it that far myself 🤞

I had pregnancy induced hypertension with my first that didn’t start until 3rd trimester and they did a c section at 37 weeks. My blood pressure was ridiculously high at the end but thank god no preeclampsia. With this baby, my blood pressure is slightly elevated (mostly 140’s but a few in the 150’s and 160’s) so they are delivering again at 37 weeks. I had to do the 24 hr urine collection this time around and it was so annoying 😂 stay close to home if you can!

I'm have been moved to a December baby as well . Due to her already being so low and now is in position at station 0

Midwife appointment

Just had my 37 week midwife appointment today and they said that my baby is 3/5 engaged, does that mean baby’s head is basically fully in my pelvis? (Can’t remember what it means from my first baby 😂)

Also my blood pressure was quite high and I had to go to triage, they checked again it was ok but I have to go back again tomorrow to see a doctor in the day assessment unit, what happens if it doesn’t come down?

I’m 37 weeks pregnant now so I have 2 weeks or more before I give birth, as with my first I gave birth at 39 weeks even tho (I was induced) so is there enough time if needed to bring my blood pressure down? As usually I have really good blood pressure so I’ve never experienced this before even before pregnancy so this is all very new to me 😂

Anyone else just suuuuper uncomfortable now? I can’t wait for this baby to arrive. I thought baby number 1 was uncomfortable but this is another level!

Self Confidence Issues

Hey guys! I’m 24 + 5 now. I’m 5”6 and always been chubby anyway. I’ve just started filling out now but to the stage where all I can see is fat. My self confidence is so low.

I feel like if people didn’t know I was pregnant they would just think I’m fat. I know it shouldn’t bother me but I’m so self conscious even walking through the village with the dog or even being around people.

Also I seem to be a lot bigger under my boobs around my middle section!

From experience do you even out to look pregnant or is this just me?

Also does anyone have any ideas of clothes which may be flattering in pregnancy. This is my first time and any help is really appreciated 😊

Twin pregnancy with anterior placenta

Hi twin mums, looking for some advice please. I’m currently 20 weeks with an anterior placenta. This is my first pregnancy and I’ve felt no obvious movements…..I occasionally (2-3 times a day) get what feel like period pains briefly in various locations which I assume is them moving and causing some stretching of the uterus?
Is it normal to not have felt obvious movement by now?
