Weaning

Weaning I’m clueless, my boy is 7 months on the 7th he can sit up unassisted for a very short amount of time, I have been feeding him Breakfast and a purée for dinner should he be on 3 meals a day now?

The NHS site says at 7 months babies should be “working towards” three meals a day - so I think two meals is fine for now and just look to increase soon https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/baby/weaning-and-feeding/babys-first-solid-foods/

Food before 1 is for fun! By the time your little one is 1, they should have worked up to 3 meals a day, with snacks and be ready to have less milk but all babies are different so follow your little ones lead x

They do need iron and zinc from food at this age so it isn’t just for fun but twice a day at the mo is fine, maybe start introducing some solid foods instead of purées now? ‘weaning the BLW way’ is a great page on Facebook for lots of info on solids with many ideas and tips x

He’s had toast, banana, rusk, Ela’s kitchen melty puffs, wafers so far I am yet to try him on carrot, cucumber and avocado etc though
