I would suggest giving a bottle of the frozen here and there if you plan on using bottles at all. I've seen a lot of moms say their baby refused frozen milk after so long of EBF
Ermm incredible I think. X
I had about that much in the begging too as I started regulating I didn’t have extra to freeze anymore and now my baby is getting older 9 months and supply is dropping so im using it to supplement I think it’ll give me enough to make it 12 months ebf with him
My baby still feeds every two hours so he def eats! Also I have done the frozen milk and refrigerated milk before and he eats fine! No lipase for me!
Really good, great job mama! I’m giving it all to my son now that I’ve weaned him off. On google it says that it’s only good for 6 months in a regular refrigerator freezer and 1 year in a deep freezer.
@Briceida Yes! I have 2 small deep freezers 😅 I plan to ebf til a year and then try to wean him off nursing (teeth lmao) and then give him breastmilk still until I run out (pumped or freezer stash!)
What?! That is insane!!!! I had 1200 oz in my deep freezer at the peak of my BF journey!!!! Def give yourself the option to end early if you don’t want to keep pumping and use it up before it goes bad. Milk in a regular freezer needs to be used within 6 mos. In the deep freezer it’s good for a year.
@Jessica I’m not sure how fast it would go haha he still eats every two hours I think if I were to stop nursing and used my stash it would only last 16 days if I calculated right. So as time goes by, with more of a stash, once he’s able to drink from a cup with eating, maybe I can use it for that in between actual nursing sessions so it doesn’t go bad?
how long will the colostrum bags last in the freezer? I have a brick of The super gold bags from the first week.
Generally speaking milk in a deep freezer is considered safe for a year. But I know plenty of people that have used it past the 1 yr mark
That’s really good. ‘Feed your baby first, then feed the freezer’. No one told me about high lipase, so I wish someone told me this from the get go.
