Starting solids

How many of you have started your little ones on solids? How/what did you start with? My little girl’s PA brought up about starting the rice cereal at 4 months at her 2 month appointment, but her actual doctor never even mentioned anything yesterday & I forgot to ask. She will be 5 months next week so I don’t know whether to just hold off until 6 months or what.

I did baby led weaning at 6 months with my first and plan to do it again with my second. You just offer regular foods but slightly modified (basically they eat what you eat but you just need to cut and prep it in safe ways) - certain shapes and lengths are safe and can't be choked on etc. My pediatrician did mention she likes modified baby led weaninf with the addition of fortified baby foods to ensure vitamin targets are met

We have done carrots, butternut squash, and sweet potato.

I started at 4 months with pediatrician approval. So far he’s had oatmeal & rice cereal + banana, sweet potato, apples, bananas and green beans baby food! He’ll be 5 months in 2 days.

my baby turned 4 months on monday and i’ve done bananas mixed w breast milk, i will probably try avocado next the doctor just said to give them the same thing a few days in a few in case of allergies
