Puddlesuit or snowsuit

Just wondering what everyone has there lo in. My sister looks after my boy when I'm working and takes him to watch my niece play football so coming up to winter his going to get muddy and be cold. I don't know whether to get a snowsuit for the warmth but it's a pain to try and get him out of it to put him in the car or put him in a puddle suit but put layers underneath. Please can I have a bit of advise

I put on my LO’s normal coat and then a puddle suit over the top.

Yesterday when it was cold we did leggings, joggers, t-shirt, 2 jumpers and then fleece lined puddle suit. I'd say for your situation a snowsuit sounds like a good idea but I understand the faff!

I think layers are better than one thick item
If he gets a little warm he can take something off under a puddle suit x

We have these- they’re a thin-layer puddle suit, so he wears his usual trousers underneath and wears them with wellies, then normal rain coat on top- but doesn’t have to wear the raincoat if it’s just wet/muddy about but not actually raining at the time.
Think they have them in yellow and green too 😬

Lots of thinner layers are better than one thick layer in terms of warmth! Warm air gets trapped between each layer making you feel warmer! So I’d suggest vest, T-shirt or 2, jumper, leggings/tights, trousers then the puddle suit and that would just be a starting point depending how cold it is xx
