Hi - looking for car seat/stroller recommendations that are best for air travel please. Ideally something light and compact. Baby boy will be 5-6 months when we go away, and is on the bigger side, he's already 20lbs and 70cms.
Thanks!

Does baby have a seat on the plane to install the car seat? Or are you planning to gate check both the car seat and stroller?

he has his own seat!

We flew with my daughter in August -- she was 4 months, 18lbs and 66cm at the time. We chose to take our regular stroller (Uppababy Cruz V2) with the travel bag and gate check it, and got a Cosco Scenera NEXT car seat for her on the plane. This car seat is SO LIGHT and super easy to travel with! I think it is regular about $120, but we waited for a sale and got it for $99. We brought a carry-on sized wheelie bag and strapped the seat onto it -- the seat and bag were narrow enough that we could even wheel it down the aisle of the plane (though this probably depends on the plane). We did a seat belt install forward facing on the plane (window seat so she could look out), and then installed it with the UAS straps rear facing in our rental car at our destination. I would highly recommend this seat for air travel with a little one, it was so easy!
That being said, the downside to the NEXT is that it has low limits... it is generally outgrown by age 2, or possibly earlier for big babies like ours 😉
