Just lost my job

Today I lost my job and I feel totally lost and don’t know what to do. only a week into the month and I’ll get my last pay dec 22 so won’t even have enough for Christmas or for my rent or kids or even Christmas food. I honestly don’t know what to do. I asked my boss to let me stay until dec 22 cause I won’t be able to pay my rent and can’t find another job before Christmas and get paid before Christmas but he said no.

Can I ask why you lost your job? Was it unfair for any reason because you can appeal if it is

@Natasha I just looked it up and it’s not in Bury it’s in skipton Yorkshire

Yes that's where head office is based they have a contract with bury college for cleaning though and trust me they're desperate for cleaners x

@Karla I called them as my work colleague advised me but they told me because I earned more than £2000 in the last 6 months I’m not entitled to an advance. I have to wait 6-8 weeks for my first payment. By then I would’ve found another job.

@Laura I know. The way they work it out is so unfair. They tell you to work and when you need their help they use that same work against you like it was a bad thing to have worked in the first place.

You can get an advance off UC my partner just his last job finished and he hasn't been able to another due to being so close to Xmas he got an advance and he has definitely earned more than £2000 in the last 6 months
